DCWV plus Pink and Main!

Image
Hello! Hope you're having a great day full of crafty inspiration!  I decided to make a card and a layout today. I'm on a heat embossing kick and I had so much fun embossing with the Pink and Main stamps. They stamp so clearly, the embossing turns out great. Even the detailed handwriting. Color me impressed!  This card features the DCWV Autumn Leaves 6x6 stack, Blue Moon Beads flower and twine and Pink and Main Thankful stamp set. I always like to have cards on hand because I always seem to need one when I don't have time to make one! Especially during holiday season. This layout is about my daughter's first time in a corn maze. She loved it, even at that young of an age. This maze is in a pumpkin patch that has lots of sun flowers but somehow, they never make it into the photos I print. I decided to emboss some sunflowers in the background and then I just had to do the hearts because I love this photo and memory so much.   This layout uses t

Halloween Party Fun!

Image
Hello! Anyone have a Halloween party planned?  I do and I've been busy making decorations. By the way,  I have a cute little helper for today's post:  If you're having a party, these stacks are a MUST.  I was able to quickly make these cute decorations very quickly thanks to these 2 stacks: Here's a sample of the cool stuff I made.  The bats in the background are simply popped off the stack and taped to fishing line and the line is secured to the display board.  I also took a couple bats and put them on sticks. They can be used as props in a photo booth :)  Here's my little helper showing you these props.  Surprisingly, she loves that paper cat! The hats are cool because they can be used as treat holders, photo booth props, or party hats! Just staple some elastic to the sides for a handle or to secure on your head.  These treat containers from the Lia Griffith stack make great goody bags to

October stack-a-holic challenge

Image
It's that time again! DCWV's Stack-a-holic challenge was recently posted on the blog.   Here is my take on the sketch:  I use the stateside stack for this photo about my friend's first visit to California. She dreamed about visiting Death Valley and here we are in the salt flats at bad water.  I used Modeling paste and the Stateside stencil set for the title 'here we go.'  The dots are an older DCWV stencil.  I hope you get to play this month.  As always, there is also a card sketch if that's what you're into ;)

Friend Friday with DCWV and Chameleon

Image
Hello! Welcome to Friend Friday! We've teamed up with our friends at Chameleon for blog hops and giveaways the first 3 Fridays of this month.  For my project I decided to use one of my favorite DCWV stacks: Jet Black  Jet Black is black and white with gloss resist and includes a couple solid glitter pages.  I love it because I can use it as is or change it by adding color. These Chameleon pens were perfect for adding just the right amount of color to my layout:  I started this layout by choosing a photo that I really love but have had a hard time scrapping.  The photo is a bit grainy and it's been hard to find papers that match the photo, story and mood.  I picked my favorite journaling cards and started coloring them. I decided to go with an ombre effect by touching the tip of the marker to the mixing chamber for 5 seconds and using the lightest tone in the middle of the cricles and larger flowers. I played around with my photo
