Best friends

Image
I think making and keeping friends gets increasingly difficult when you get older. I met this particular friend in college 9 years ago. We went from hanging out, having lunch, shopping and trying on cute clothes, to hanging out in the mall at the family lounge breastfeeding and changing diapers and leaving exhausted. But we still love to hang out and I enjoy bonding with her baby and watching her grow. I know she feels the same with my baby.  Love these girls!  We took the babies to their first Easter egg hunt. This is the DCWV Chick Chat stack out at Michaels. Absolutely everything in this LO has been cut or punched from the stack. I just noticed I didn't need to bring in any extra embellishments...not even enamel dots (gasp! shock!) lol.  Love the texture of the burlap. I used 3D foam tape to give the cut outs dimension. As usual, I hid the journaling ;) The LO was just too busy to add it where it's visible.  I don't do well with grids a

You Light Up My Life

Hello!  Do you ever try to get caught up with your scrapbooking? I sure don't...I scrap whatever inspires me. This photo of Christmas inspired me recently. I just realized it's not at all Christmassy and that's ok :)  These cute lightbulbs say 'light,' 'love,' and 'you.' They are cut files from Wilna Furstenberg from her Art and Design Workshop. It used to be offered by Big picture classes, not sure if she will be offering it on her own site now. But anyway...I love those little light bulbs, There isn't really a story to scrap. This was just a walk around the neighborhood to see the lights. But it's  general 'Love' page about baby.  This is the Chick Chat Stack at Michaels with accents from Crate Paper's Kiss Kiss. I have so much paper, I rarely buy papers from collections anymore. I find that the embellishments from other collections work with DCWV papers.  View blog post for supplies

Surprised by DCWV ready made pages

Image
I have to admit something…once upon a time I was a snob about premade pages. Why would I use that? What about my creativity? After all, I had uninterrupted scrapbooking time, lots of supplies and ideas. Well, now I have a six month old baby, lots of supplies and lots of ideas, but very limited time. So when I received ready-made scrapbooking pages from DCWV in my DT box, I got excited. Look!!! I made 3 layouts in ONE nap time! I can’t even remember the last time I made 3 layouts in one day. I like to layer and embellish a lot so it takes time for me to complete a layout. With these ready-made pages, the photos, journaling and embellishing were the only things I had to do (I wanted to add embellishments but that is totally optional). I like that these pages match DCWV stacks, so you can always go to the matching stack to use any of the fun cut out designs or cards. You can also use the matching papers with machines, dies, punches or stamps. I’ll show you how each page looks in the pack

Are you a stack-a-holic?!

I am!!! and I've loved to play with the DCWV monthly challenges since the beginning.   I've been wanting to scrap these pictures for a long time but I kept putting it off because I just wasn't inspired. When I'm not inspired, I don't do the photos justice.  On one of our cruises, we visited Bruges, Belgium and it was a wonderful walk without a plan. We had some waffles and fries of course! We shared a coke with LOVE ;)  We bought lots of chocolates, it was a delicious port of call.  I feel like the LO captures the spirit of  our experience in Bruges.  I used the  DCWVTravel Adventure stack &the  DCWV DIY mimi album stack. Embellishments are from the Pinkfresh studio embellishment kit. Freckled fawn and Heidi Swapp. ...and here's the sketch, courtesy of Pagemaps Hope you'll join us this month!  View blog post for supplies
