That's a lot of hobbies...

Image
I had been thinking about scrapbooking my hobbies for a while. It was such a nice coincidence that the Paperclipping Roundtable had an episode about this very topic around the same time. It just confirmed for me the importance of documenting more about myself.  Two page LOs are NOT my thing! But this page of art in the Quince Blossom stack just went so well with my LO. Creating really does make me happy. I'll display these pages together in my album, this is my new easy way to make 2 page LOs. I think these artsy pages in the recent DCWV stacks could even be used as a big title and the companion page wouldn't need one.    Quince Blossom should be at Hobby Lobby soon.  Have you seen it yet? Let me know!  Thanks for stopping by & have a wonderful day!

Photo booth props

I made this flannel mask to use as a photo prop for my baby shower. It was all good until I got to the antlers!  I racked my brain thinking about how I was going to make the antlers stay up for the photo. The flannel I had is not stiff, So I went to my DCWV 6x6 flocked stack. I cut both the antlers from one 6x6 gray sheet and now they stay up no problem!  The best part is that they look like felt too :)  I struggled with those eyelashes because cutting details in felt is never easy...After doing the antlers, I wish I would have thought to use the white flocked paper instead. Would have saved myself SO much work!    I got the idea for the mask from Pinterest  .  You can find the new DCWV 6x6 textured stacks at Joann's.  Go check them out this weekend :)

THE Shot

Image
This is how we spent a few afternoons on our London flat. So the view was NOT amazing but just being there WAS amazing. With all the walking we did, we NEEDED to put our feet up at the end of the day.   My husband really wanted to get a shot of the wineglass on the windows sill...the very narrow window sill.  As soon as he was done taking the shot, the glass shattered to the ground!  It is known as THE shot of the wine glass.  Here's a close up of the banner. I actually cut it out of a journaling card from one of the cut apart sheets.  I used the Weekend Neutrals stack.

A Proper Castle

Image
Eilean Donan was described as a 'proper castle' by our Air Bnb host. She was super nice and very very helpful. It was a long drive from Loch Ness but it was beautiful and SO worth it.  The inside of the castle is remodeled and the view from some of the rooms is AMAZING!  This castle is not just livable, but comfortable.  This is my LO for the July Stack-a-holic challenge  over at DCWV Diary . This is a little peek at a brand new stack!  The card sketch was so easy to work with and I whipped this up very quickly using the Vintage collector cardstock stack, the paper tapes and some heart embellishments.  Here are the sketches:  Hope you find some time to play with us !

Adventure Awaits!

Hope you enjoyed your holiday weekend (if you're in the US)! It's always great to have an extra day off :) I was busy in my scrap space and created a few LOs. Here's one:  We usually travel during the summer. Most of the time it requires a plane and suitcases.  This summer we are on a whole different adventure. I'm sure it will be just as amazing :)     I Love the Market Street Ashbury Heights collection from My Mind's Eye.  I just had to have it. The colors, the themes and the gold foil accents...just so pretty! What have you been working on lately?

The few, the proud...

Tomorrow is Independence Day here in the USA and all week on the DCWV blog, we have been showcasing patriotic projects.  My husband served 5 years in the Marine Corps. before we got married.  I don't usually document our lives pre-marriage, I document every day stuff, events and our travels. But I thought I better start documenting more of our backgrounds because our kids are going to want to know more about us for sure.    I wanted to know more about his experience in the Marines and I wanted to put it in a way that would be easy for kids to read and understand. So I wrote some questions for him on a piece of 'The Ledger' stack which has that cool bracketed edge. I left space for him to answer the questions in his own handwriting. I think our handwriting whether we think it's pretty or not, is an important part of ourselves that should be recorder for posterity. Especially if we take into consideration how much we type these days.    I folded the
