Hello friends! I want to let you all know that the hubby and I will be going on a trip pretty soon....in a few days. I expect I won't have internet access so I won't be able to respond to your lovely comments. But I will make sure to get back to you soon after I come back. I will be scheduling posts so my blog doesn't get lonely. To keep a little fun going on my blog, remember my candy will be open until July 29. Make sure you enter ;) the link is Here or on my sidebar. And don't you criminal types get any ideas! Just like my blog, my house won't be lonely either! The rest of my family and my 3 beasts will keep everything in shape for me ;) Lol. So where will we be going? Care to guess? I'll try to put up some pics that don't make it too obvious so it'll be fun to guess. Here's 3 pics of 3 different cities in Europe.   The first one is difficult to guess. The last 2, not so much.  Ok, let's hear those guesses! I guess that's it f

Fall into summer

Hello!  Today I'm taking a much needed scrapbooking break! I finished this LO which I started a few days ago. We don't get much of the fall colors here in southern California. I really enjoy looking at pictures from people who live in places where the trees turn bright yellow, red and orange in the fall.  A few years ago, we went for a walk at the park with Zoe who was our only dog back then. It was a beautiful fall day and Zoe had a lot of fun running around on the leaves.  I got the leaves on my layout from a flower shop! Yes a flower shop! I thought I would probably never use them. But they were great for this LO! I took the picture before I did the journaling, but I noticed that the journaling really adds a little something!  I've been wanting to do this LO for a long time but what really got me going this time, were the rub-ons my friend sent me and that beautiful Amber Autumn Value Pack stack. I love it, I use it for all kinds of projects.  It's been so great to w

Buttons, Buttons, Buttons!

I am very lucky to have found a little tiny store that sells fabric, trims and buttons that are extras from clothing factories. They have buttons in a big paint bucket and you get to dig through it and choose the buttons you want or you can just scoop up a big handful! I chose to get a big handful for the lucky winner of my candy. Here's the selection that was in that scoop: There are metal buttons, round, little square snaps and one very cool triangle looking button that has a little hinge thing on the back. The rest of the buttons are plastic round buttons in blue, red, pink, black and white. There's also a few purples, greens, grays and browns. Hope you like! To join in my candy, leave a comment on the post titled " Celebration Blog Candy " (Link also on my sidebar) and  help me advertise by putting my candy on your sidebar ;) Thanks! I'll be adding some more soon! Stay tunned!

Quick little gifts

So I tried really hard not to get into making jewelery too because it's not the most inexpensive hobby. Besides, my paper obsession drains my bank account enough as it is! But...I was into making jewelery a looong time ago and I still make beaded pins for crafting...so the natural progression leads to: Necklaces using Blue Moon beads findings, chain and charms. Trust in your dreams and Be free (on the other side). The sentiments ring so true! Follow your heart and Love life- love the sentiments! super quick matching cards punched some circles, smaller scallop circles for the centers pop the middle flower with a pop dot. Flower shower stack by DCWV. The necklaces and cards are parting gifts for my co-workers. The necklaces and cards both worked up so quickly, They're perfect for making multiples!

Some Cards and New Blog Candy

Image
Keep reading for new blog candy pictures :) I've been making a lot of cards lately. I'm not usually a card maker, I make lots more LOs than cards. But after the first card I made with the Heritage papers I couldn't stop and I made 2 more. Loving these papers. Where can I get a whole stack? These are going to be thank you cards for my co-workers. They all have the same thank you bird stamp inside. I use ribbons to close the cards. I don't like to put them in envelopes unless I'm mailing them. If I'm giving them in person, I tie them with ribbons. I don't like to hide the cards in envelopes :)   This is a happy birthday card for my mother in law. I bought my first butterfly punch in May and this is the first use it's gotten. I'm waiting for the Martha Stewart monarch butterfly punch to go on sale so I can get a bigger butterfly. Thanks for looking!  Now on to the blog candy. Here's what I have to add:  Some details of what's included:

Hello Everyone!

This is my second masculine...at least not really girly card for the week. Very strange for me. This is a lovely paper from pressed petals by DCWV called 'Heritage.' It's a small pack from Big lots. Some of the papers are flocked. The colors are so cool. It's kinda vintage but not too distressed. I wish I had seen this in a whole stack. I added some american crafts ribbon.  Here's the inside:  The Thank You stamp is from Unity. The other side already had the message, so I couldn't show you all of it :)   I'm entering this in the Paper Variety's 'for the guys' challenge. I'll be back in a bit to add the pictures of my new blog candy items!

Very productive end of the week!

So here's what I've been up to lately. My last final was on Wednesday night. So Thursday after work, I ran to my craft room and got my beading box. All quarter I've been thinking of making a necklace with these pendants I bought at Michael's a while ago. The little birds are beads I got in the Maya Road warehouse sale box. It was torture to have so many goodies and not have any time to craft. I made the round pendant into a detachable ring. I thought I was on to something, so I researched and it turns out it's not a new idea! LOL! In other news.... One of my professors is going on sabbatical for a year, so I wanted to thank him and wish him good luck. In case I finish before he comes back. I'm not very good at making anything manly. I love pink and flowers and ribbons and bling! But I think this turned out pretty good. The Tattered Time stack by DCWV made it so easy to make a manly card. I also think I'm going to use it for travel pages. Love it! Eve
